SIRCHIE’s new BLUEMAXX Amalgam breaks new ground in LED technology. This palm-sized marvel is a multi-purpose, focused beam instrument that permits use as a hand-held, headmounted, or table-mounted forensic light source. The BLUEMAXX Amalgam light source produces an excitation band at the frequency of 470nm—ideal for locating many forms of physical evidence. The six fullpowered LEDs are incredibly energy efficient due to a regulated power supply metering a constant light output. An electronic micro-switch provides seven operational modes:High, Medium and Low Power Brightness; Fast, Medium and Slow Strobe Effect, and Auto Shutoff. An internal power monitor permits estimating battery life and the instrument automatically shuts off when switches are held longer than 30 seconds. When maximum illumination is needed, the Hyper-Glo switch provides the ultimate level of brightness—ideal for evidence photography. An electronic memory circuit recalls the last setting. The BLUEMAXX Amalgam requires the use of any of the orange barrier filters provided by SIRCHIE. It operates on only three AA batteries: Alkaline, Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride or Lithium cells, allowing universal utility.
